3 Meal Prep Tips!

Meal Prep is definitely one of the best ways to stick to a new dietary plan, and also can be one of the most challenging habits to cultivate.

When you are already crazy busy, the thought of dedicating 2-3 hours in the kitchen every Sunday can feel impossible!  Here are a few tips to help make this easier.

Tip #1: Just focus on chopping veggies

  • Tons of recipes require diced onion, and a sheet pan of roasted veggies is such an easy side dish for any protein.  If you don't have 2-3 hours, take 30-45 minutes to chop all your vegetables for the week. You can even go ahead and toss your veggies in your cooking fat with salt + pepper, and store in the fridge. Then just dump them on a sheet pan and roast at 400 for 20 minutes the day of.

Tip #2: Watch trashy tv!

  • Aren't guilty-pleasure tv shows the best?? But if you're a busy mom or professional, it's not always realistic to binge watch your favorite shows for hours at a time. Use your meal prep time to catch up on your shows while also being productive!  Luckily, chopping vegetables doesn't require much brain power.

Tip #3: Invest in sharp knives

  • Nothing slows you down more than a dull knife! Invest in one really nice classic chef's knife, and keep it sharp! Always wash the food off your knife immediately after using it (especially tomatoes, the acid can damage the blade!).  If you can't invest in an expensive knife, invest in a knife sharpener and use it often!
